Please note:  Leslie's classes have a different dress code than Starr & Company classes (which are also in the Holly Springs Cultural Center and the Hunt Recreation Center).

Class leotards provide a professional environment essential to a well-organized dance class.  And ballet Moms (or Dads!), get ready to practice that bun! Click here for a video Leslie recommends for how to make a ballet bun.

Ballet Class leotards are available at Discount Dance Supply ( www.discountdance.com ).  Enrolled students may use her teacher code (TP115204) to receive a discount on all orders and support our school.

Ballet

Jazz

 Girls should wear the class leotard for all ballet, ballet/tap and ballet/tumbling combination classes (see links below).  Hair should be pulled back for Tiny Tots and any class with ballet, and in a bun for Pre-Ballet and Ballet classes. (Click here for a video on how to make a ballet bun)
No tutus, please (tutus obscure the hip line and make corrections more difficult). However, chiffon skirts are fine but OPTIONAL;  click here for a suggestion .

     Ballet I class leotard is the leotard found here in LILAC color; for Ballet II, color is DARK ROYAL

BALLET SHOES: GIRLS:  Any pink leather or canvas ballet shoes (full-sole or split-sole); must be CLEAN for recitals.  (NO SATIN SLIPPERS, PLEASE).  BOYS:  Black ballet shoes.  Click here for a suggested economy ballet shoe.

Boys should wear a fitted white T-shirt and black shorts, bike shorts or leggings with white socks.




    Enrolled students may use Leslie's Teacher Number to receive an 8% discount:  TP115204.
Jazz dancers may wear any color or style leotard, and tan convertible tights (which may be worn footed, or rolled up to the ankle), and jazz shoes.  Jazz shorts are allowed.  
Hair should be pulled back from the face.

Tumbling

Tumblers should wear a leotard, and bare legs or convertible tights (with the feet pulled up to the ankles). Dance shorts are optional. Bare feet are best! Gymnastics slippers are allowed but not necessary.  Hair should be pulled secured in a low ponytail or braids. (high ponytails may be uncomfortable for front and back rolls).
GIRLS IN LESLIE'S THURSDAY 4:30-5:30 BALLET/TUMBLING CLASS MUST WEAR THE PINK LEOTARD FOUND ON THE LINK UNDER "BALLET" (LEFT). BOYS IN THAT CLASS SHOULD WEAR A FITTED WHITE T-SHIRT AND BLACK SHORTS, BIKE SHORTS OR BLACK LEGGINS WITH WHITE SOCKS, AND BLACK BALLET SHOES (SEE LEFT-HAND COLUMN)

Tap

Tap students may wear any color leotard, and tights or jazz pants.     
Leslie recommends  Theatricals brand Child Velcro Tap Shoes in Tan from Discount Dance Supply  in TAN (Item no. 9050C).  For sizes larger than 13.5 child, you may want to consider this style (please note the size chart advises ordering 2 sizes larger than street shoe size).

Alternatively, Relevé Dancewear in Cary carries high-quality tap shoes.

Students may wear any color or brand tap shoes in class, but TAN tap shoes are required for the spring recital.
